Intersecting Stories in Superposition is on view at CAMIBAart Gallery from October 24th through November 21st, 2020. In this exhibit, Austin based artist Adreon Henry uses his signature painting, printing, weaving and sanding methods, to created artworks that investigate the intersection of stories or paths or perspectives. In the most basic form, these intersecting stories can be represented by the weaving together of geometric pictographs in which some aspects line up while others don’t. Some ideas coincide, some paths cross, some stories intersect, some planes collide… and others don’t.
Superposition is the act of placing one thing on or above another, especially so that they coincide. In quantum physics, the theory called Superposition is likened to a coin being flipped in the air; when it's in the air it is both heads and tails, with each having equal probabilities, before landing on one side or the other ~ similar to Schrodinger's cat theory. In other words, simply looking at matter actually changes the outcome of what happens to it. In the same way, the artworks in this exhibition expose two sides at once, revealing two experiences that are happening simultaneously, ultimately being the product of the intersection.
