I am a restless innovator and explorer of textures, colors, and space. As an enthusiast of music, I gravitate to the use of harmonies, dissonance, and rhythm in my works to create dramatic moments. I am always thinking about how to visualize sound - how to translate rhythmic and melodic experiences into something tangible, tactile. My recent research and present work practice center around medieval neume notation, the minimal classical period, and its composers (Steve Reich, Philip Glass), and asemic writing/composing. The unique abstract mark-making, hint of scripting, forms, shapes, and palate choices take on a language unique to the viewer. In essence, the experience becomes meaning.
